There is a danger that is out in the open (on our sidewalks, at playgrounds, the little league baseball park, etc.) and most people don’t even know what it is.

Including myself til a little while ago when I read a post, on 30 Aug 2012, at the CertAssist Blog which is a Product Safety Blog.  This is not my typical post but I thought it is important enough to pass on to help more people to become aware of this danger.  The issue about Contact Voltage is a great example of why proper insulation, grounding, and preventative maintenance are extremely important in design of electrical devices including street lights, traffic lights, medical devices and any electrically conductive metal that may be close to electrical power or has electrical power running thru it, or near it.

Thank you Cherie Forbes from CertAssist for this blog post.
